Custom Error Pages
Get familiar with website error pages. Learn when they show up and why you should create your individual custom error pages.
If you have browsed lots of websites, you've probably stumbled upon some error message from time to time. An error could occur when the server cannot process a request (Error 400), if you must log in so that you can see some content and you haven't done so (Error 401), if you are not able to access a page (Error 403) or when a link leads to a file which is not on the server (Error 404). Receiving such messages may sometimes be irritating since the pages have nothing in common with the actual Internet site. That’s why some website hosting service providers permit you to set your own error pages which will match the layout of your own site and that could have any content that you'd like - details why the error has taken place, a suggestion what you can do or even some amusing remark. Such a feature shall help you keep the visitor on the site no matter the error and the reason for it.
Custom Error Pages in Cloud Hosting
You can set up personalized error pages for any of your sites easily when you use any of our cloud hosting plans. This could be done via the Hosted Domains part of the Hepsia CP, which comes with all accounts and when you go there, you could set your custom made pages independently for any domain or subdomain. You must upload the files to your account before you start and input the links to them through the process. This feature may be de-activated anytime and the options you shall be able to to select from are a generic page from our system or a default Apache server page. Custom made error pages may be set with an .htaccess file as well. The file should be put in the domain or subdomain folder and it must contain some system code and links to the pages. If you are not tech-savvy, you may copy the whole content necessary for the file from our Help section.
