FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, is among the most widely used means for exchanging web files between a computer and a web server. Using an FTP client program like FileZilla, you can set up a connection to your web hosting account and drag & drop files or entire folders in both directions and the software will handle all the rest. There are a number of pluses of using File Transfer Protocol, among them the option to restart a download/upload if there is some problem with the connection or the possibility to set up different FTP accounts. Thanks to the latter option, you can create FTP users that can access only particular folders in your web hosting account, but no other folders, email accounts or other info, which makes it the perfect solution if you have to grant a web designer access, for instance. You can also use an FTP account with famous web design applications like Dreamweaver or FrontPage and upload the web content that you’ve created straight from them, without the need to resort to 3rd-party software.

FTP Accounts in Cloud Hosting

You can set up as many FTP accounts as you like with any of the cloud hosting plans offered by us, since we have decided not to restrict this functionality. Thus, you can maintain multiple sites simultaneously or give other individuals access to separate folders. As soon as a given job has been fulfilled and you wouldn’t like that individual to be able to connect to your files anymore, you can update the password for the FTP account or you can simply remove that account with a couple of clicks of the mouse and stop worrying about someone accessing it once again. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with all shared packages, will allow you to check the complete list of the existing FTP accounts listed in alphabetical order. It takes only one single click of the mouse to manage different options for any of them – to edit the password or the access path, to download an auto-configuration file, etc.
